Electricity theft is a problem in many newly developed minigrids, and reacting as quickly and precisely as possible is key to building healthy community engagement. EarthSpark wanted to leverage our Loss detection solutions to pinpoint as precisely as possible where and when non-technical losses were happening.
We collaborated with EarthSpark to help them decide where to install totalizers on their grids for greatest impact. In parallel, we released an improved version of our Loss Analytics Report that would use the structure of the network to provide insights on non-technical losses at various levels of granularity. By using these reports, the EarthSpark team is able to quickly identify areas of their grids that have performing poorly on losses and focus their actions on these specific areas.
